Hello,

We use ProSelect for our in-studio slideshows, and when practical, we try to help our customers put together their print order while they are still in the studio. However, it's often the case that our customers need a bit more time to decide which images they want for enlargements. In this case, we usually take a $100 deposit and post small, water-marked proofs on our website for them to refer to.

This system works well, but it usually means that they have to come back a second time or send us an (error prone) list of image numbers for their print order, which have to be manually entered (more errors) into ProSelect for hi-res print processing and loading into our accounting system.

It's much more convenient to build the customer's order in the ProSelect cart while they are still in the studio. The next best thing would be for us to provide them with an on-line shopping cart interface. Once they complete their order on the web, the server would send us an XML file which we could import into ProSelect and process.

I was hoping that this was the point of the Time Exposure Web Gallery, but as I don't see a way to import XML orders into ProSelect 3.2.2, perhaps that's not the case. Please let me know if you have plans to do this or how other customers have solved this problem. I'm sure that I'm not the only person who would like to use the ProSelect workflow to process print orders from the web. All of the other sites that I've found which provide photo cart hostsing want to also provide their own printing services. I don't want this. I need to retain the ability to take care of print production, and integration with ProSelect is a must.

Hi

I am considering Proselect for 2 users and the network module. I have the same question as David regarding the integration of the web gallery to make it easy to post orders into my accounts system.

I also use LightBlue Photo V1.5.1 which does have an import facility for orders generated in ProSelect, my question is will i be able to import orders placed through web gallery?

Rgds

Pete

Hi Pete,

With ProSelect 4.1, you can import WebGallery orders back into the shopping cart of the ProSelect alum that the on-line album was uploaded to. These can be then exported like any other regular order.

There is more information on this subject in the new 4.1 ProSelect Reference Manual.
