ProSelect's prices and templates data is stored in a file on your computer. If you wish to transfer your prices and templates to another computer (or simply make a backup copy), you can do this by copying this data file to your other computer. See the following section for how to do this with the version of ProSelect that you are using.
ProSelect version 4, 2010r1 or newer
The basic prices and templates data can be copied using File menu -> Prices & Templates Data ->Export Data to.. and Import Data from.. menu commands.
Image Resources
However, if you have setup any templates with overlay images, room views or styles with matt background images then the images associated with these items also need to be copied to your other computer. The easiest way is to copy your entire ProSelect Resources folder from one machine to the other. The location of this folder is shown in ProSelect Preferences -> General Settings -> Default Folders -> Resources Folder location.
It is best to copy the folder to the same location on the other computer and, after copying, make sure the Preference setting in ProSelect on the destination computer is correctly set to point to this folder as well.
If you do not copy the resources folder to the other machine, then you will find that templates with missing images will have a red X across them which indicates that ProSelect was unable to locate the associated image file.
Note: If all your computers are networked together then consider setting the ProSelect Resources folder to a shared network folder referenced by all copies of ProSelect on different machines and using the ProSelect Network Server to share the price and templates data between machines.
ProSelect version 3.3.7
The basic price and templates data can be transferred using File -> Prices & Templates Data ->Export Data to.. and Import Data from.. menu commands.
Transferring Preferences Data
The other saved information in ProSelect is the current Preferences settings. This file is saved in the same location as the above prices & templates data file. See the article called Finding Preferences & Data Files for the name and location of these files.
Note 1: While you can transfer the ProSelect Data file between Mac and PC we do NOT recommend transferring the Preferences file since any file references (eg paths to music files or the default folder) will be incompatible.
Note 2: If you copy this file then some items may not be valid on the machine that you are copying the file to and you will need to set them up again on that machine. (ie Page Setup, Slideshow Music settings, Default folders etc).
