ProSelect works with low resolution copies of your original high-res images. It does this for speed and to ensure your original images are left untouched. These images are all kept in a self-contained album that can be easily moved between computers and/or archived off as a record of the job including any selections made and orders received.

ProSelect also allows you to build multi-print (matted) layouts and composite layout within the program and Books using the supplied templates or any other templates that you can design yourself with the program.

When you record an order within ProSelect, it records the all the details including size, cropping, image effects (eg B&W or sepia), notes, layouts etc. While you can print proofs of ordered images and layouts, these are created using the low res images stored within ProSelect album, so are not suitable for anything but small output sizes.

If you have a "ProSelect" (basic) license,  and wish to re-create a layout or book design that you created in ProSelect as a high-resolution file,  you will either need to do this manually in Photoshop or we suggest you change your license to "ProSelect Pro" for the time saving ability (plus much more).  See the TimeExposure Store for pricing and purchasing.

High-Res Production instantly!

ProSelect's High-Res Production feature does the high-resolution creation for you. Since ProSelect knows the location of the original images (assuming that you haven't moved them), it utilises the order that you have taken as the "output specification" (for Prints & Layouts) and a Book's Design specifications for producing each Book, and using the original files, automatically produce a folder of final high-res images. These can be .jpg, .tif or .psd format at your specified resolution.

ProSelect will do this through Photoshop automation which works with Photoshop CS, CS2, CS3 and CS4. This also means that you can create and have ProSelect use your own B&W and Sepia conversion actions etc when producing the final images.

Output images will be sized and cropped as specified in ProSelect. You can have them as either layered Photoshop files or JPEG files and optionally filled to fit standard paper sizes. Composite images will be created as layered masked images so, if you wish, you can make final adjustments before flattening for printing. Any edge styles (ie keyline, spaces and bevels) that you have setup and applied to a layout within ProSelect will be carried through into the composite output files on a separate layer.

Retouching

The Production system sets up a "To Do" list for that job. All images that have been ordered are listed and you can quickly identify which ones require manual re-touching (through the notes that you added) so this can be done and "ticked off" before the automated part of the production starts.
